Course emphasis for the undergraduate program is divided into two categories: required and elective courses. During the first two years, students focus primarily on foundational Russian language skills, including reading, grammar, conversation, listening, etc. In the final two years, students continue their language training while selecting from six elective course groups: Russian Language Training, Russian Literature/Culture, Introduction to Russia/History and Geography, Czech Language and Culture Program, Polish Language and Culture Program, and other Slavic Languages courses. These courses provide a solid foundation for students to pursue further studies or career opportunities after graduation.
Students may also apply to enroll in the Czech or Polish Language Group within the "Slavic Languages and Literatures Program." Students will be awarded a program certificate upon completing 20 credits in relevant subjects.
