The 10th International Conference on Slavic Languages, Literatures, and Cultures
Call for Papers
We are pleased to invite scholars to participate in the 10th International Conference on Slavic Languages, Literatures, and Cultures, to be held on November 6–7, 2026, at National Chengchi University (Taipei, Taiwan). Under the theme “New Trends in the Study of Slavic Languages, Literatures, and Cultures in Eastern and Western Contexts,” the conference welcomes contributions from researchers in Taiwan and abroad. Through perspectives from linguistics, literary studies, history, cultural studies, and digital humanities, the conference aims to foster international dialogue and interdisciplinary collaboration, and to explore the diverse developments of contemporary Slavic studies.
Submissions related to the following four major areas are welcome:
1. Slavic Linguistics
History and development of Slavic languages
Phonetics, morphology, syntax, and semantics of Slavic languages
Sociolinguistics, cognitive linguistics, and political linguistics
Teaching of Slavic languages and second language acquisition
Corpus linguistics and applications of language technologies
2. Slavic Literary Studies
Interpretation of classical and contemporary Slavic literature
Translation studies and cross-cultural textual exchange
Literature and socio-political change
Literary narrative, gender, religion, memory, and identity construction
3. Slavic Cultural Studies
Cultural interaction and comparison from Eastern and Western perspectives
Religion, folklore, and cultural symbols in the Slavic world
Social change, political culture, and historical narratives
Cultural exchange, transnational mobility, and globalization
4. New Perspectives on Slavic Studies in the Age of Digital Humanities
Digital archives, digital text analysis, and research methodologies
Applications of digital tools in linguistic, literary, and cultural studies, as well as language teaching
Artificial intelligence, language models, and the humanities
Challenges and trends in Slavic studies in the digital era
Conference Format
Conference languages: Chinese, Russian, and English.
Mode of participation: On-site. Proposals for thematic panels consisting of three to five participants are also welcome. The submission procedure and deadlines are the same as for individual papers.
Submission Guidelines
By February 20, 2026, please submit your paper abstract (English abstracts should be approximately 600 words) via the registration form (English version): https://forms.gle/saQsWV2wFvw7rtBg8
Authors of accepted abstracts will receive an official invitation letter by March 30, 2026.
A peer-reviewed post-conference proceedings volume, Slavica Formosana, will be published after the conference. Authors wishing to have their papers included must submit the full text by the deadline to be announced separately by the organizer.
A conference registration fee of 50 USD will be charged for participation.
